Overt white nationalism was a key component of Hillary Clinton's campaign. In fact, Barack Obama also appeals quite consciously to white nationalism. Incidentally, the problem with fashion is not that it's "extreme," it's that it's anti-woman. I notice that the appeal of the 70s retro didn't extend to nostalgia about George and Jonathan Jackson, the Attica rebellion, the American Indian Movement, Puerto Rican independence or a bicentennial without colonies, or the women's movement, all key components of the real 70s.
