Augury Of Truth

No one knows
Or can guess
What decisions
We make
For things to come
May bring.

All we can do
Is trust
That when truth
Reveals itself
We’ll be able to stand
On the same two feet
That brought us here.

Fate is a daunting lover.
That shows us little
Before revealing all.
We are helpless in her arms
In hidden truths
And hopeful guesses.

Time, her only friend
Sits and waits
For that’s all he is,
A patient hermit
A connoisseur of measures.
