Now that i live in western Washington, i am constantly addressing individual racists who are part of the 9/11 Truthers. It is very disturbing due to the fact that so many people are clueless, especially activists. Obviously addressing oppressive philosophies and behaviors have not been prioritized by the left. I personally have always found Alexander Cockburn arrogant, sexist and a little too righty tighty for my taste.

We live in an age of name-calling, where people paint each other with large brushes, rather than debating ideas. Last time name calling lead to concentration camps. If you don’t want that to happen, don’t demonize people or views. Just argue rationally.

From her base near Berkeley, California, Brenda Walker has been active in the population wing of the anti-immigrant movement for years. She maintains two nativist websites, limitstogrowth.org and immigrationshumancost.org and is active in Support US Population Stabilization (SUSPS), an anti-immigrant group which tried to take over the Sierra Club.

Although Walker’s concern with immigration appears on the surface to be about the environment, it is clear that the race and culture of those coming to the United States is at the root of her fear. Walker specifically targets Mexicans and has called Mexico “one of the most despicable countries on Earth.” In a recent article posted on VDARE and various other anti-immigrant websites and blogs, Walker warns that “Mexican men have a reputation for leering and worse at little girls, which shouldn’t surprise us, since sex with children is socially acceptable in Mexico.” She has also lashed out against Hmong and Muslim immigrants.

Walker also is a regular contributor to VDARE, a nativist/white nationalist website, as well as the anti-immigrant journal, The Social Contract. In an article in The Social Contract, Walker makes the statement that “The belief that all cultures are equal-the central tenet of multicultural society-does not bear even the most cursory examination.”

On her own website, http://www.limitstogrowth.org, she has written, “Our country appears to have lapsed into one of its occasional periods of hysteria over a stubborn social problem. The residue of racism has created some unfortunate reaction in very inappropriate directions. Those of us who have been involved in immigration reduction have grown accustomed to shrieks of ‘racist’ from excitable people convinced that they are on the side of virtue-or from professional ethnics who play the race card like a drum.”

“So will thousands of drug-addicted polygamists be welcomed into America in another escalation of multiculturalism against American values?”

I take that to mean that proper screening should have been employed to keep out lawbreaking individuals.
