		<description>As a resident of GA-9, I can safely say that Nathan &quot;Raw&quot; Deal is pandering to the base. The vast majority of the residents here are religious conservatives, if not outright racists. Ironically, there&#039;s a large population of Hispanic immigrants here, working in the poultry plants and other industries.

Deal has been mostly a do-nothing in his long and undistinguished tenure as a reprehensible; he gets up and grandstands on occasion but his constituents would be hard-pressed to name anything he&#039;s actually done besides vote the way he&#039;s told. That he&#039;s leaving Congress to run for gov. has me both relieved and apprehensive: the latter because we could end up with a Michele Bachmann-type of embarrassment (and the voters here would eat it up).</description>
