I think we need to be able to draw the line between offensive and racist, in this case. As MdeG so eloquently put it, "Would you let your kids go out dressed up as klansmen?" I hope not. I agree that costumes are a way to escape the inhibitions of normal life. It's only logical that so many costumes would learn towards the hyper-sexual given that we don't live in a country that experiences sex in a healthy way. What speaks louder to me, however, is the suggestion that the undocmented aren't human. That's scarier than a Hallowe'en costume. That is why every costume store in the country carries a ton of costumes that are very sexy and primarily designed to elicit a sexual response. Halloween is a time to release your inhibitions and be who or what you would like to be in everyday life and if someone chooses to wear something that could be considered offensive then it is their right to do so. If you choose to disassociate yourself with them because of it then that is your right.
