There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, anti-Muslim events in California and Montana.

On Wednesday, March 8, former ambassador and anti-Muslim spokesperson John Bolton will speak in Los Angeles, California. Bolton’s appearance is part of the monthly Wednesday Morning Club, sponsored by the anti-Muslim think tank David Horowitz Freedom Center. Bolton associates with a number of anti-Muslim outfits. He is chairman of the conservative Gatestone Institute, which regularly publishes anti-Muslim commentary. He also was the keynote speaker at the American Freedom Alliance’s “Islam and Western Civilization: Can they exist?” conference in August 2016. Bolton and Horowitz also both spoke at the Eagle Forum’s national conference last September.

On Thursday, March 9, the Flathead County chapter of the anti-Muslim grassroots group ACT for America will hold a meeting in Kalispell, Montana. Austrian anti-Muslim activist Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff will be the featured speaker at the meeting. According to announcements online, Sabaditsch-Wolff will discuss “chilling effects on freedom of speech” and how the European migrant crisis will affect America. The Flathead County ACT chapter hosted Sabaditsch-Wolff last April.
