There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, events in Minnesota, Nebraska, and California.

On Tuesday, September 12, anti-Muslim speaker Shahram Hadian will speak in Browerville, Minnesota. Hadian will give a characteristically conspiracy-riddled presentation titled, “Islam’s Assault on the Constitution.” As Bluestem Prairie reported last month, Hadian’s Browerville appearance is part of an ongoing tour of the Upper Midwest. He will also speak in Freeport, Minnesota and St. Cloud, Minnesota on Wednesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 14, respectively.

On Wednesday, September 13, anti-Muslim conspiracy theorists John Guandolo and Chris Gaubatz will deliver a presentation in Omaha, Nebraska. According to an announcement online, Guandolo and Gaubatz will discuss the “Muslim Brotherhood’s secret strategies for the USA.” Operating through their consulting outfit, Understanding the Threat (UTT), Guandolo and Gaubatz typically deliver their bigoted presentations to law enforcement personnel. However, UTT has not announced any other presentations tailored for law enforcement since the Center for New Community revealed last month that Guandolo was charged with assaulting a Minnesota sheriff.

Finally, on Thursday, September 14, the anti-Muslim American Freedom Alliance will host a screening of the recent BlazeTV-produced 2015 documentary Never Again is Now in Los Angeles, California. The film, which focuses on anti-Semitism in Europe, features Dutch politicians and anti-Muslim demagogues Geert Wilders and Aayan Hirsi Ali. Another subject in the film, Evelyn Markus, is scheduled to speak at anti-Muslim grassroots group ACT for America’s national conference in October. The American Freedom Association hosted a nativist-filled day-long conference in California last month.
