There Goes the Neighborhood: September 15, 2017

Imagine2050 Staff • Sep 15, 2017

There Goes the Neighborhood is a weekly series from Imagine 2050 staff highlighting upcoming nativist events.

This week, events in Wisconsin, Ohio, and California.

On Saturday, September 16, anti-Muslim speaker Shahram Hadian continues his speaking tour in the Midwest with an appearance in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Hadian will give a conspiratorial presentation deriding interfaith dialogue as a “Trojan Horse” for Islamic domination. He made several similarly paranoiac appearances in Minnesota last week.

On Monday, September 18, the local chapter of grassroots anti-Muslim group ACT for America will host a presentation by Richard Green in Broadview Heights, Ohio. Green is executive director of The Clarion Project, an anti-Muslim organization best known for producing films portraying Islam and Muslims in a blatantly negative light. Monday’s meeting will include a screening of Clairion’s latest film, Faithkeepers. Clarion held a series of screenings for its latest film across the country in May.

Finally, also on Monday, September 18, anti-Muslim author Robert Spencer will speak to members of the Malibu/Bel-Air Republican Women Federated in Beverly Hills, California. Spencer is currently promoting his latest book, The Complete Infidel’s Guide to Free Speech (and Its Enemies). He spoke at an event organized by his employer, the David Horowitz Freedom Center, in California last month.

Additional information on these events and others can be found in the map below. A red star indicates events scheduled for next week.
