In the wake of the tragic attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015, anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant targeting of refugees has multiplied in the media and among elected officials. This backlash has deep roots in the organized anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim movements in the United States. These organizations, and their leaders and allies, foster fear and engage in scapegoating in the service of their bigoted agenda to maintain a white majority in the United States.
These movements of organized hate have successfully injected their messages into the mainstream, and must be strongly and urgently opposed.
The Center for New Community has created a set of resources to support organizations and individuals in pushing back against anti-refugee messages during this critical moment.
