FAIR’s Personal Political Agenda
Have you ever heard about an organization called Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR)? The group was founded to make immigration a key issue for American voters. Currently, FAIR is lobbying congresspersons on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for the next two days, September 10th – 11th, 2008.
And why not? American immigration policies are a huge mess. Sometimes it takes years for husbands and wives, and daughters and sons to see each other: Something a little similar to Middle Eastern countries’ immigration policies. Do I Disappoint you?
Last night, John McCain spoke to his Republican base of 20,000 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Many of these supporters will be his staunchest allies in his push for the presidency this fall.
Sen. McCain’s speech came exactly one week after Barack Obama spoke at Invesco Field in Denver, Colorado in front of 76,000+ onlookers. Statistics have been since released revealing that approximately 38 million people watched Obama’s acceptance speech last Thursday.
Hip-hop Republicans are Down With GOP. No, Seriously.
Skimming campaign news items last week I came across a commentary on the theroot.com that made me giggle. It was called We Down With GOP and was about Hip-hop Republicans. Nerdy title aside, I launched into the article with as much objectivity as I could muster.
